Arsenal's Özil recalls Ronaldo's anger after his move from Real Madrid

The transfer of Mesut Ozil in 2013 from Real Madrid to Arsenal created a stir in the media but above all a huge displeasure of one of the German's former teammates. And that former teammate is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. The Arsenal star recalled the words of Ronaldo in an interview with the Mirror.

"The sale of Ozil is bad news for me, he was the player who knew my moves best. I am angry about his departure," Ronaldo said when he learned of Ozil's move to Arsenal.

Ronaldo justified the anger by the great understanding the two had on the field. In fact, in his last season in Spain, Ozil was the best provider of assists and Ronaldo was the main beneficiary.

However, the purchases of Isco, Bale and Modric in the previous summer transfer market, took away space for the German, who was forced to reconsider his situation. "I was sure I would stay at Real Madrid, but then I realized that I no longer had the trust of the coach (at that time Ancelotti) and of the club," Ozil admits five years after the transfer.
