Arsenal: Sanchez closing in on lucrative move to Bayern Munich

German newspaper Kicker (via The Sun) has reported that Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez is edging ever closer to a summer move to Bayern Munich. Having courted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, it’s understood that Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti is about to get his hands on one of the summers hottest names on the transfer market.

With his relationship with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger at an all-time low, the journal states that the Bundesliga giants are preparing a contract thought to be worth a staggering £21.7M-a-season. Having endured a difficult season in the Premier League despite scoring 29 goals in all competitions, Sanchez’s refusal to accept a new deal from The Gunners has led to disharmony between himself, club officials and supporters.

The player’s representative, Fernando Felicevich was in Germany last month when a deal is believed to have been struck. Manchester City are also huge admirers of the 28-year-old but Wenger has always maintained that Arsenal will only sell to a club outside of the Premier League.
