Arsenal star set for another six months on the sidelines

Arsenal have been rocked by the news that Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla could be out of action until December. The 32-year-old, who last kicked a ball for The Gunners in October 2016 in a Champions League tie against Ludogorets, underwent more surgery on Monday to try to resolve his ongoing Achilles problem. This is the player’s eighth operation in less than 12 months and now there are fears that he may even have played his last game as a professional.

Cazorla was seen limping around the Wembley pitch last weekend ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup Final triumph over Chelsea and was required to have more surgery after a series of complications. Back in January, boss Arsene Wenger was hopeful that he would be ready to return before the end of the season but in March was told that the Spaniard would be out for the remainder of the campaign which ended in triumph last Saturday.
