Atletico Madrid prepare €40m bid for Serie A midfield star
The Uruguayan has gone from being paid a mere 100.000 a year several seasons ago to being one of the hottest central midfielders in Italy.
A strong tackler and very good passer, he has also netted twice in Serie A action, and is now deemed worthy by Atletico Madrid of an investment worth €40 million.
There’s only one problem, however: Samp don’t want to sell in January, a thought shared by directors like Daniele Prade, Antonio Romei and Carlo Osti, the main players at Bogliasco.
Torreira would just be the latest example of how Sampdoria have turned cheap acquisitions in mega sales: Milan Skriniar and Patrik Shick were, for example, acquired for a combined €5 million or so, but were sold last summer for sums amounting to a total of €74m.
