Barca midfielder angrily plays down exit rumours

Denis Suarez has shot down rumours linking him to a move away from Barcelona, and sounds pretty angry about it, too.

The Napoli target was recently rumoured to be surplus to requirements at Barcelona, having made only two Liga starts this season.

The former Masia star was eventually sold to Sevilla, having a very successful season with Villareal two seasons ago before returning to Catalonia in 2016.

The 21-year-old has since been targeted by a number of clubs, including Italian side Napoli. Rumour had it that Barca would sacrifice him alongside Rafinha and Arda Turan so that the Cules could afford Philippe Coutinho.

“My dream is to spend many more years at Barcelona,” Denis said to El Mundo Deportivo.

“I have no intention of leaving, just like I have always said. I have rejected offers and approaches from other clubs.

“I feel like, for whatever reason, the club or representatives are perhaps leaving open the possibility of me leaving but this is not my intention.

“For me it seems like I am put on the market when we approach transfer windows even though I have made it very clear I do not want to [leave].

“This is just a feeling I have, and do not want to discuss it any more.”
