Barca want defender to do a Cesc, force €45m Arsenal exit

Barcelona are set to step up their chase of Hector Bellerin, and are set to ask the full-back to do his part, according to reports in Spain.

Bellerin is the Blaugrana’s main defensive priority, seeing as he is the right-back they haven’t had all season, forcing young players like Sergi Roberto to slot in.

The Blaugrana are set to encourage Bellerin to rebel against the club, as fellow Catalan Cesc Fabregas did a few seasons ago.

Eventually, Fabregas was able to force a return to the Nou Camp (where Bellerin was also an academy player) for a stunning €34 million back in 2011.

The full-back has had a decent season, and was reported to see his future as being intertwined with Arsene Wenger’s permanence.

The Mirror recently wrote that the  Catalans were ready to offer €45.5m (£40m) to nab the 22-year-old.

New Coach Ernesto Valverde has also singled out the defender as one of his priorities.
