    It is now a done deal, Luis Suarez is set to stay in Barcelona. The Catalan club are set to announce that Suarez has renewed his contract with the club till 2021. Barcelona decided to add a release clause in his contract which will be equivalent to 200 million euros. Suarez won many trophies in his time so far with Barcelona including: 2 la Liga trophies, 2 Coppa del Re trophies, 1 Champions league title, 1 European Supercup, 1 Spanish Supercup and 1 Fifa World cup for clubs. "The contract renewal is what I wanted and it's what the club also wanted, I am very happy about this " Suarez said. 

    Barcelona are currently second in la Liga standings, six points off eternal rivals Real Madrid. Luis Suarez has been playing some solid football as he scored 12 goals and added 5 assists in 18 starts for the club this campaign (in la Liga and the Champions league). This was one of Barcelona's priorities.
