Barcelona are stepping up pursuit of Bonucci and Bellerin
22-year-old Bellerin has been a target for the Catalan side for some time, with the Spanish giants in need of strengthening their right-back position. It is a position that they have been unable to fill ever since their main full-back Dani Alves departed for Juventus last year.
Chelsea were once leading the race to sign Bonucci but they have since stalled since the Serie A side Juventus came back with a £70m asking price for the players’ services. Now it looks as if the La Liga side, who scored 116 league goals last season, are looking at the Italian as a suitable option to solidify their defence, and are going through the motions of thrashing out an offer for the 30-year-old. Despite his age, the centre-back is thought to have several years in him yet, making the asking price a little less steep.
