Barcelona defender not likely to extend his contract

According to Mundo Deportivo, Thomas Vermaelen is not a primary choice for Coach Ernesto Valverde and his Barcelona, the player has many doubts about his future, if the annual renewal seemed obvious at the end of last season, now things have changed for the Belgian defender: as one of the parties does not seem intent on extending the expiring contract.

Vermaelen moved to Barcelona from Arsenal back in 2014 and since then had a short spell on loan at Roma were he featured in nine games before returning to the Catalan side.
