Barcelona is close to acquiring Griezmann

It appears as if Barcelona are ready to land prized French striker Antoine Griezmann next summer. The Atletico Madrid star has not shied away from rampant talk about a move away from the Spanish capital. Now, it appears as though he’ll be headed to the Catalan capital.

Currently his release clause sits at €200 million, but drops to (only) €100 million on July 1st, 2018. The Blaugrana are getting all the pieces in place to make a move for him on that very day. Mundo Deportivo reports that Griezmann is aware of the potential and welcomes it wholeheartedly. Playing with Messi, Luis Suárez, and Iniesta motivates him. In addition, he wants to take a leap forward in his career, and Barcelona represents that step.

In fact, French outlet Le10Sport reported on the existence of an agreement between the clubs. Neither the clubs, nor the player, denied that the current situation favors such a move.
