Barcelona star backs 'relaxed' Coach Valverde
The Uruguayan is struggling this season, scoring only three goals and failing to replicate previous form.
Barcelona are flying high, however, and are unbeaten in the Champions League and La Liga, with the Blaugrana unbeaten in the latter and eight points ahead of Real Madrid.
“Ernesto has surprised me positively,” Suarez told Diario Sport.
“You can tell he and his staff have played for the club before through how he communicates with the players and how he works.
“Every Coach is different and has their own methods and Valverde’s is different to Luis Enrique, I’d say the new manager is more relaxed.
“He speaks with calmness and experience while Lucho was similar to his playing days – if I am ever a Coach I would be like this too!
“Training is different too but ultimately they always want what is best for the players.”
Valverde has a strong track record, impressing at Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid, while also winning numerous titles at Olympiakos.
