Bayern and Arsenal compete for £86m Atletico Madrid star

Bayern Munich and Arsenal are both in the race to sign Yannick Carrasco.

The Belgian winger has had a good season with Atletico Madrid, scoring 14 goals and making five assists in 53 games in all competitions.

According to fichajes.net, both clubs are willing to pay the Belgian’s expensive release clause, rumoured to be in the region of £86 million.

We’d reported two days ago that Bayern still consider Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, but consider Carrasco to be their second priority.

Arsenal, for their part, would obviously chase the winger if Alexis left, with Manchester City reportedly ahead of the pack in the race to secure the Chilean’s services.

Carrasco has been chased by big Premier League clubs before, with Chelsea and Manchester United - as well as Ligue 1 giants PSG - also interested.

The Belgian international had a falling out with Coach Diego Simeone earlier this season, prompting Atletico to erect a barrier to all the European interest.
