Bayern Munich set to beat Man City in race for Spurs full-back

Reports in The Express this morning understand that Bayern Munich could be on the verge of beating Manchester City in the race for Spurs defender Kyle Walker. With The Citizens reportedly ready to make an official approach this week for the 27-year-old, the German giants have also been monitoring the situation and are now believed to be ready to make their assault on the £45M rated player.

Boss Carlo Ancelotti is looking for a replacement for Philipp Lahm who has announced his retirement from the game and the Italian boss believes that Walker would fit the bill perfectly. Should the Bundesliga side win the race for his signature, it would be a huge blow for City boss Pep Guardiola who is also struggling to complete a deal for Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy. The two clubs cannot agree a transfer fee for the French international which may force the Spaniard to look elsewhere.

Another name on the club’s radar is Juventus full-back Dani Alves who has announced he will be leaving the Bianconeri this summer. Reports on Saturday suggested that the deal could be very close to being completed in the coming days.
