Benevento's first point kills a classic meme genre

Yesterday’s historic draw between Benevento and AC Milan did much more than break up The Witches’ 14-match losing streak and earn their first-ever point in Serie A. Unfortunately, and just as importantly, the 2-2 draw killed a recurring meme in Italy.

For months Benevento’s futile attempts to earn a single point in Serie A launched a meme of ‘Crying Jordan’ proportions in Italy. See the gallery below for some of the best examples.

Now, with their incredible stoppage-time equalizer yesterday, the Benevento meme is dead. Long live the Benevento meme.
