Benzema not worried about replacing Ronaldo

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has said that after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, he feels the responsibility to score goals and do what the Portuguese star used to do for the club. Ronaldo joined Juve this past summer for a fee of 100 million euros and has impressed for the club since joining.

He has appeared in all 12 Serie A games so far this season, scoring eight times and racking up a tally of eight assists too. Benzema though, believes that he’s now got the responsibility to do what Ronaldo did for the Los Blancos over a period of nine years. The Frenchman was recently talking to Real Madrid TV about it.

He said: “Without Cristiano Ronaldo it is normal for me to feel a little more responsible. “ Since the goals are expected out of me, but I'm stimulated and prepared for this. Now it's up to me to score and win trophies for the team.” The 30-year-old has appeared 12 times in the La Liga so far this season, scoring five times and assisting once.
