Berlusconi attacks Milan again: 'I feel bad when I watch them'
“I haven’t been to the stadium since, I watch Milan on TV and I feel bad,” Berlusconi said to Maurizio Costanzo ahead of a television programme that will air tomorrow night.
Berlusconi himself led the Rossoneri to five Champions League trophies over nearly two decades, but his later teams were what drove some investors to buy the franchise off him and try to relaunch it.
Milan made a series of expensive acquisitions in the summer, totalling over 200 million for eleven players. Yet some of the most expensive (Leonardo Bonucci, Andre Silva, Hakan Calhanoglu) have struggled, while cheap additions like Fabio Borini have been successful.
We have some doubts about these comments, however, especially the context: the former Rossoneri owner has electoral reasons for wanting to follow the grain.
It’s not as if his side was ever very good towards the end, either, last winning the Scudetto in 2011 and failing to reach the Top Three in his last three seasons in charge.
