Boban reveals how the format of Club World Cup could change

Fifa vice-secretary and former AC Milan star Zvonimir Boban has revealed that the format of the Club World Cup could change in the future: “The idea is to create a competition that will be played every four years in a different country than the one that organizes the World Cup. There will be eight groups with three teams each. I’ve spoken with managed and footballers. They don’t want to increase the number of games in a season. If we organize this kind of tournament every four years, there will be time to organize the season”.

Boban did also speak about his compatriot Luka Modric who has just won the Ballon d’Or: “He is an exceptional player, he makes all his team-mates better footballers. He has unique qualities, a rare player. A similar one is Pjanic, he has similar abilities but there are only few players with their qualities. In the past there was Iniesta”.
