Bonucci names the toughest player he’s ever faced

New AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci has talked to AC Milan TV to share his thoughts on his first couple of weeks in Milan. The Italy centre-back completed a shock €42million move to the San Siro after a seven-year spell at Juventus but seems to have already settled in well with his new club.

“It’s great to receive such a warm welcome by fans. I want to get AC Milan back on track, this club deserves it. AC Milan have a great tradition, you don’t win 7 Champions League by chance, that means there is the right mentality here. Now we must take AC Milan where it deserve.”

“When I was a kid I loved to watch Del Piero. His style has always been impressive to me and I was lucky enough to play alongside him. As for defenders, Nesta is definitely my role model. Alessandro is a ‘maestro’ when it comes to defending the ball. He is a point of reference to me just like Maldini, Baresi, Kaka Shevchenko and Costacurta.”
