Bonucci: ‘Toivonen broke my nose’

Leonardo Bonucci talked to Rai after Italy’s 1-0 defeat to Sweden.

The Italy and AC Milan defender accused Ola Toivonen of breaking his nose.
“The referee should have send him [Toivonen] off”, Bonucci said.

“He elbowed me and broke my nose. However, we have to look ahead, they were lucky to score one goal but we lost 1-0 so have to react immediately.”

“We have to recharge batteries and qualify for the World Cup, we must be more clinical in front of goal and we should never forget that games last 180 minutes, we must believe in what we do and react on Monday.”

Ventura also talked at the end of the game claiming that Sweden’s win is unfair.

“I hope the referee will allow us to do the same they did tonightThey played a rough game, we should have done the sameNow we must focus on the second game, we must focus on the result and not on the performance. Tonight’s result is unfair”, the azzurri manager claimed.
