Brazilian starlet sparks war between Real Madrid and Barcelona

Real Madrid and Barcelona will go head to head for the signing of another Brazilian prospect, according to reports in Spain.

The La Liga giants have been battling it out for many south American footballers over the last few years: from Ronaldinho to Neymar and Gabriel Jesus.

According to Marca the new name on both clubs’ agenda is Vinicius, a Brazilian striker contracted with Flamengo until December 2018.

Both clubs scouted Vinicius during the U-17 World Cup but Real Madrid are slightly ahead of Barcelona in the race to sign him as the Merengues are on very good terms with the player’s entourage.

Barcelona, of course, hope this won’t be enough to seal the transfer of the 17-year old striker although Marca claims there has already been a meeting between Real Madrid executives and the player’s agent in Madrid at the beginning of 2017. Lincoln is a centre forward but he can also play as attacking winger, either left or right.
