Breaking: Alexandre Lacazette has medical ahead of Arsenal record transfer

Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette is in London to have his medical with Arsenal. The French striker is going to move to North London for € 50 million becoming the club’s most expensive signing ever, according to reports.

Arsenal signed Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid for roughly € 48 million and the transfer of Lacazette represents a new club’s record in terms of transfers.

Lacazette, 26, is a product of Lyon’s academy and the French club’s president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that his striker’s move to Arsenal is a done deal.

“We will without a doubt hit a record. It is not a small transfer, €50m for a player who was produced by our club”, the club’s no.1 said.

Lacazette was close to joining Atletico Madrid last month but the Colchoneros’ transfer ban prevented them from signing the French striker.

The product of Lyon’s academy has 129 goals in 275 appearances with the Ligue 1 giants. As for his International career, he has only managed 1 goal in 11 appearances with France national team where, however, competition is very high with the likes of Karim Benzema and Antoione Griezmann playing up front.
