Breaking: Chelsea pounce on Roma star, negotiations ongoing
Sky Italia (via goal.com) reports Chelsea and Roma are trying to reach an economic agreement for the rock-solid centre-back who may leave the Olimpico for a fee close to € 35 million.
​Rudiger’s teammate Kostas Manolas was expected to join Zenit for a similar fee but the Greece International failed to turn up for medical, turning down a chance to move to Russia.
Roma still need to solve their financial issues and according to Sky Italia they need to sell another player in order to have their balance sheet right in time for the beginning of the next campaign.
The player’s agent is reportedly flying to London where he will discuss Rudiger’s personal terms with Chelsea ahead of his client’s possible move to Stamford Bridge. Calciomercato.com sources have confirmed that negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing with Chelsea.
