Breaking: Donnarumma agrees AC Milan contract extension with double release clause

Gigio Donnarumma and AC Milan have reached an agreement over the contract extension of the 18-year-old goalkeeper, according to Sky Sport.

The promising shot-stopper had put contract talks on hold amid controversies, but according to the latest report of the Italian broadcasters, the two parties have now managed to reach an agreement over the player’s contract extension.

Donnarumma has given his green light to extend his stay at the club. The 18-year-old will earn € 6 million-a-year for the next five years and his brother Antonio (who is also a goalkeeper) will be signed by AC Milan. He will earn € 1 million-a-year.

Donnarumma’s new AC Milan contract will have a double release clause as well, according to the report. His minimum transfer fee will be set to € 50 million if AC Milan fail to qualify for the Champions League next season, whilst his release clause will be set to € 100 million if AC Milan finish in the top four next season. An official announcement is expected in the coming days.

Donnarumma is reported to have rejected Psg’s € 13 million-a-year offer (plus € 1 million in bonuses). The Ligue 1 giants would have also signed his brother and would have given Donnarumma a huge number of benefits such as luxury cars and three villas. The player, however, has rejected a move to France and has decided to commit his future to AC Milan.
