Breaking: Man Utd retire from race to sign Inter star

Manchester United have reportedly called themselves out of the race to sign Inter star Ivan Perisic, according to reports in Italy.

The Red Devils hoped they could sign the Croat for a fee close to € 40 million but Inter rejected the Red Devils’ opening bid a few weeks ago. Now that the nerazzurri have managed to meet terms of Fifa Financial Fair Play they are not forced to sell the former Wolfsburg star and have told representatives of Manchester United that they can still sign the 28-year-old for € 50 million.

Manchester United, however, are not willing to spend as much for the talented Croatian winger and according to Italian press agency La Presse, the Red Devils have retired from the race to sign him.

As far as Calciomercato.com knows, Inter can still decide to sell the player if he tells the club that he wants to join Manchester United, but that would not change the nerazzurri’s asking price. Inter, however, are set to offer their highly rated star a contract extension finally to ward of Manchester United and keep the Croat at the San Siro.
