Cagliari don't face punishment for racist chants against Moise Kean due to 'limited relevance'

Serie A side Cagliari will not face any action for having racially abused Juventus striker Moise Kean earlier this year.

During Juve's 2-0 win over Cagliari away from home back in April, Moise Kean was subjected to racist abuse from many fans of the home side and he had celebrated right in front of fans who were spewed abuses. Both Blaise Matuidi and Alex Sandro had suffered racist abuse too.

The incident had attracted worldwide attention and condemnation and the Serie A authorities had informed that they will soon make a decision about it in the near future.

Six weeks on from that day, the authorities have announced that no action will be taken against Cagliari and the club's fans for racist chants
because the chants had "an objectively limited relevance" during the match.

This comes after AC Milan midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko was racially abused by Lazio fans for which the biancocelesti were handed a temporary closure of their stadium.
