Cavani: 'A return to Napoli? Why not?"
Now, the current PSG striker has them fantasizing again, only this time of a return to the San Paolo.
“Return to Napoli? Why not?” Cavani told Il Corriere del Mezzogiorno.
“I’d love to return to a place where I spent three marvellous years.
“A footballer’s future is unpredictable.
A suggestive interview, the Uruguayan international could well be fishing for a new contract, or simply expressing love for his former club, much akin to former Inter striker Ronaldo, who, despite his declarations of love for the club… ended up joining Milan in 2006-2007.
Anyway, Cavani had some very positive things to say about this year’s Napoli side.
“I’ve followed Napoli on TV since moving to Paris. The team’s playing very well, it’s fun to watch them. I hope they make it to the top, it feels like it’s the right year.
With comparisons to his successor, Gonzalo Higuain, frequent, Cavani preferred to gloss over and compliment the Argentine.
“Higuain is a great player, but the two of us are different”.
