Chelsea, Barcelona target set to sign new Juventus deal

Juventus defender Daniele Rugani is reportedly set to sign a new deal at the club, dealing blow to hopes of Chelsea and Barcelona, who have been linked with the player over the last few months.

Rugani was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this past summer and was close to a move too. But the move fell through after Juventus sold Mattia Caldara to AC Milan and loaned Gonzalo Higuain in an attempt to resign Leonardo Bonucci.

Goal.com understand that Rugani is set to stay at Juve and is on the verge of signing a new deal at the club very soon.

The outlet claims that he will sign a deal till the summer of 2023 and will earn about 3 million euros per year, which means that they have doubled his salary in the new contract.

Juve see the Italian as a long term replacement for Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini and have fought off interest from Chelsea and Barcelona to keep Rugani at the clbu.
