Chelsea: Costa claims Conte wants him out of Stamford Bridge

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has revealed that Blues boss Antonio Conte wants him out of Stamford Bridge this summer. The 28-year-old frontman was speaking whilst on international duty with Spain where he stated that the Italian tactician had messaged him to tell him that there was no future for him at the club.

The Sun quotes comments the player made after Spain’s 2-2 draw with Colombia where he stated that; “Antonio Conte has told me by message that I will not continue with Chelsea and that’s it. My relationship with the coach has been bad this season and it is clear that he does not want me on the team.”

“I guess I have had such a bad season that I can't continue. Right now I'm a Chelsea player because I have a contract, but the coach does not want me there. I have to find a new team."

Costa has been linked with a return to Atletico Madrid but with the Spanish giants unable to buy any players until January 2018, a return there would see him sit out the first half of next season. The player made reference to this when he explained that; “It would be nice to go back, but it's difficult to go four or five months without playing and it's a World Cup year.”
