Chelsea outcast Fabregas on his way to Roma in January
Italian journal Il Tempo claims today that Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas will be heading to Serie A in January. There have been constant rumours suggesting that Milan would be his likely destination but with the club not due to be taken over by the Chinese consortium Sino Sports-Europe until March next year, his destination looks set to be the capital and AS Roma.
The 29-year-old Spaniard is on the cusp of Antonio Conte’s first-team at Stamford Bridge and despite statements from both club and player that they are happy with each other, the former Barcelona and Arsenal man knows he must get regular action to enhance his chances of being selected for the Spanish national team.
Having been left out of today’s squad for the home game against West Bromwich Albion, the giallorossi seem to have offered Fabregas a way out of West London and whether it’s a decision that he likes or not, it’s one that looks likely to be taken.
