Chelsea keeper issues ultimatum to club regarding his future

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has told the club that he will stay if they offer him a new contract. The 25-year-old is one of the names linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer as well as Manchester United’s David De Gea but the Belgian international, who has yet to commit his future to the Premier League champions, wants the club to show their commitment by sitting down and talking about a new deal.

The players family still live in the Spanish capital after he spent a loan spell at Atletico but after suffering defeat on Saturday in the FA Cup Final, Courtois told Sky Sports (via The Sun) that; ““Contract talks haven’t opened but I am happy at Chelsea. I hope they reward me with a good contract. Then there will be no doubt I will sign it.”

His current deal still has two years left to run and last season he was in inspired form keeping 16 clean sheets to win the Golden Glove award.
