Chelsea prepare €80m bid for Real Madrid star, Man United target
The Blues were pipped to Romelu Lukaku last week, the Belgian star moving to Manchester United for a stunning €85m fee.
AS confirm (via Le10Sport) that, with Morata being close to Manchester United, he is now free to be recruited by another elite club.
That would be Chelsea, whose Coach, Antonio Conte, had recruited Morata to Juventus back in 2014, before leaving the club over a disagreement with ownership over transfer policy.
Conte is currently frustrated at Chelsea’s lack of transfer activity, which may explain the signing over the weekend of Antonio Rudiger.
Morata, 24, would like to stay at Madrid, but also wants promises of playing time, and he’s not getting any of them of late, despite Coach Zinedine Zidane lobbying ownership for him to stay.
There’s a problem: Real seemed to want €90m for their man, United not willing to go above €80m. Will Chelsea be successful?
