Chelsea striker to seal move to Newcastle United this weekend

According to reports in the Daily Mail, Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham could become a Newcastle United player by the end of the weekend. The journal claims that Magpies boss Rafa Benitez has used his friendship with Blues technical director Michael Emenalo to beat off competition from another newly promoted side, Brighton & Hove Albion, to sign the highly-rated 19-year-old.

It’s believed that the player, who smashed in 26 goals for Championship side Bristol City last season, will arrive at St James’ Park on a season-long loan deal with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte preferring to let his opposite number in the North-East handle the responsibility of integrating Abraham into regular first-team Premier League football.

After Dominic Solanke’s departure to Liverpool earlier this week, the champions look set to lose their second England Under-21 star although unlike the former, fully expect to be teaming up with him again in the future.
