Chelsea sweat over Morata injury
The Spanish federation is seeking to clarify Morata's position and whether he would be available for international duty. The former Juventus and Real Madrid star will fly to Madrid to undergo tests as well as scans to assess the extent of the hamstring injury.
If however they believe Morata can recover in time then he be up for selection for Lopetegui for the last two qualifying matches for the 2018 World Cup.
Morata has had a blistering start to life at Chelsea as the striker scored a hat trick last week in Stoke and already has 6 goals to his name. Spain are looking to complete their World Cup campaign in style as they look to tie up first place once and from all, as Italy trail them in second place.
