Chelsea to complete £34m Antonio Rudiger signing ‘in next 24 hours’

Chelsea are set to announce their capture of German international Antonio Rudiger in the next 24 hours, according multiple reports via The Metro.

The West London side’s board are keen to push the transfer through quickly in order to appease Blues boss Antonio Conte, after he became disgruntled with leaving out on his top summer signing this window, Romelu Lukaku – who is set to be announced as a Man United player on Sunday, following a £75m+ transfer from Everton.

Rudiger is a proficient right-back as well as centre-back. This will allow Conte more options as he looks to deploy another three-at-the-back system next season.

The 24-year-old Berlin-born player has been linked with the reigning Premier League champions from his side Roma for several weeks now, with a fee in the region of £34m mooted, but, if reports were to suggest, it looks as though a deal is set to be signed and sealed by Monday.
