Lazio striker Djibril Cissé could leave Serie A but rather than join Auxerre, the French player may move to the United States.

“In the future I would like to play in the US,” he told Telefoot. “I love that country.”

The former Liverpool player is having a tough time at Lazio and has so far failed to impress.

However, Auxerre don’t have the budget to sign him and have asked their fans to help the club in order to get Cissé.

“Rather than being paid by the supporters, I prefer to make an effort here and fight in order to be called by the national team for the Euros,” explained Cissé as he officially closed the door to a return in Ligue 1.
