City, Spurs target hints at Monaco stay: 'I know what I'm worth'

Thomas Lemar has made some revealing remarks about his progress, claiming that he “knows what he’s worth”, but also hinting that he may stay at Monaco.

Chased by Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, the 21-year-old has scored 14 goals and made as many assists in all competitions with the Ligue 1 side.

“I know my qualities, I know what I’m worth.  The first season at Monaco helped me learn and to integrate, this year, on the other hand, has been ideal for me to affirm myself,” Lemar told France Football.

Lemar has helped Monaco earn the Ligue 1 title this season, and also to reach the Champions League semi-finals.

“I’ve reached a good level, but I don’t want to stop. I need to keep working if I want to make it to the top, and follow the advice of both my team-mates and the staff.

“I’d like to thank everyone for this season, it’s been fantastic.

Though his remarks may seem coy, the references to “making it to the top” may be an indication that he’s staying for another season.
