Manchester City sent out their scouts to follow Ezequiel Lavezzi in Napoli-Chelsea. El Pocho is one of Roberto Mancini’s favourite players and certainly made a good impression.

The head of the Citizens’ scouts was at the San Paolo and City will be able to negotiate the transfer next June.

The Argentine striker will be able to leave Napoli for a €32M fee due to a release clause in his contract.

Thiago Silva talks about Pato & Van Persie

Milan defender Thiago Silva spoke about the club’s current situation and also about teammate Alexandre Pato and potential new signing Robin Van Persie.

“After the SuperCup in Beijing we got relaxed, but in Udine we turned it around and now we are hungry again,” said the Brazilian.

“I don’t know what is happening to Pato and lately I haven’t spoken to him much since he is always in the gym while I am on the pitch training.

Van Persie is a player to sign. The Dutchman gives defenders headaches and he can always hurt you, a lot like Filippo Inzaghi,” concluded Thiago.

Drogba-Milan, why not?

Didier Drogba has been linked to Milan in the past and the Rossoneri may still get a chance to sign him at the end of the current season when the player will be a free agent.

Following the Napoli-Chelsea game at the San Paolo, Drogba told Sportmediaset: “I like the city of Milan, I go there often to attend fashion events”.

When the Italian journalists asked him “Would you ever play for Milan?” Drogba replied: “Why not? They are a great club and in football you never know what is going to happen”.

Villas-Boas respects Ranieri: André Villas-Boas era at Chelsea may be over already and the Portuguese could leave Stamford Bridge soon to join Inter. However, the former Porto man is fully focused on his Premier League job and won’t get involved: “I have maximum respect for Ranieri: both of us cannot give up on our current jobs. I understand to be always on the market, but I want to be part of this Chelsea project”.
