Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen has been linked to several Serie A clubs and the player’s agent confirmed there are good chances he will move to Italy.

“Jan is ambitious and Italy as well as Spain would be a good destination for him,” agent Mustapha Nakhli told CM.com. “He is happy at Ajax and has been playing for the club since when he was 16. It is just normal that several clubs are after him.

“At the moment though no official offer has been made, otherwise, Ajax would have informed us. For instance, we have had no direct contact with Inter,” added Nakhli.

“Rather than January, I believe it would be easier for my client to leave Ajax at the end of the season. We will consider any offer also because his contract expires in June 2013,” concluded the agent.
