Conte offers reassurance on Morata, prepared for Roma

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte faces a difficult task against Roma on Tuesday night, but all the talk has centred on striker Alvaro Morata.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Spaniard seemingly suggested that he wasn’t entirely happy with living in London.

While he moved to clear up the matter himself during the same press conference, Conte believes that Morata is settling in well and will continue to enjoy the challenge.

“Every time I have spoken with him he has told me he is very happy for this fantastic experience for him, and for his wife.

“This season, I solved this problem. My family stays with me, I am enjoying London and I am enjoying this league. It’s a fantastic experience for Alvaro and for me.”

Conte also spoke about the upcoming encounter with Roma, as it could prove to be decisive in Group C. Chelsea sit just two points above the Giallorossi, while Atletico Madrid remain in contention.

In turn, the Italian tactician will know the importance of a positive result at the Stadio Olimpico, but has reiterated how important it is for him to have a fully-fit squad at his disposal.

“Roma are in a good moment of form. It’s important for us to overcome this difficult period. We are recovering important players. You know how important it is for me to have all the players available.”
