Copa Libertadores final postponed again after violent bus attack

The second leg of the Copa Libertadores final has been suspended and postponed for the second time in two days.

The Boca Juniors' bus was attacked when they were arriving at the El Monumental stadium and there was mass violence by fans outside the stadium. Boca midfielder Pablo Perez was injured on the eye because of the glass from the bus and the fans were dealt with rubber bullets and tear gas outside the stadium. The game was postponed for later today.

It has now been confirmed though, that the game has been postponed to a later day, with the date not confirmed yet.

Boca had claimed that they wanted to play the final in equal conditions, after Conmebol had wanted the game to be played today. But the assosciation had faced a lot of criticism for the same.

Earlier today, Boca had called the game to be called off. They said: ”Boca considers that these conditions have not been established and asks for the game to be suspended and sanctions applied.”
