Cristiano Ronaldo could have joined Juventus under Capello, says former Real star
The former Brazil star played for both teams during his playing career although Emerson did also shine with AS Roma managing to win the title in 2001.
“I will support Juventus for one simple reason”, Emerson said.
“I think they deserve to win everything for what they are doing this season and for what they’ve been doing during the last few seasons.”
“It will be hard to beat Real Madrid. My Juventus side would have been ready to win the Champions League it if it wasn’t for Calciopoli [the match fix scandal that saw Juve being relegated to second division].”
“I talked with Capello [Juventus’ manager at the time] before the scandal exploded. He wanted to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.”
“I would have stayed at Juventus in Serie B but the president told me he would have listened to all offers for me, that’s why I left. Juve will win for 2-1 in the final. Sergio Ramos and Dybala will both score.”
