CSKA Moscow-Man Utd 1-4: player ratings. Red Devils reign once again in Moscow

Manchester United won CSKA Moscow 4-1 in Moscow after a diabolical defence display from the Russian side. It took only 27 minutes for United to score three goals which surely gave them all three points.

Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring on the fourth minute after Anthony Martial crossed the ball into the box and Lukaku’s powerful header put the ball into the back of the net. Henrikh Mkhitaryan earnt United a penalty after he was bought down in the CSKA area. Martial made no mistake in scoring from the spot. Soon after Romelu Lukaku was gifted with his 10th goal for the season after a shambolic attempt to clear the ball by the CSKA Moscow defender giving Lukaku an open net to tap in to.

David De Gea had made two great stops in the first half to keep CSKA at bay. Likewise, Akinfeev made a couple of great stops himself however his defence did him no favours. In the second half United pushed and pushed and got another goal, Mkhitaryan getting his first Champions League goal for United. Manchester United looked in control of the game forcing more great saves out of Akinfeev. CSKA Moscow did grab a consolation goal by teenager Kuchaev as he controlled the ball with his chest firing low and hard through De Gea’s legs.
The win keeps United on top spot in Group A and next up for the Red Devils is Crystal Palace at home.
