Del Piero wants Conte to coach Italy again

Juventus and Italy legend Alessandro Del Piero talked to Sport360 about Italy national team. The azzurri will be playing against Sweden tonight and need to wrap-up a win if they are to qualify for the World Cup. Giampiero Ventura’s side lost 1-0 in Sweden on Friday night and have no alternative but to win if they want to book their flights for Russia.

Del Piero, however, pins the blame on Ventura for Italy’s difficult situation and claims he’d like Conte to return to Italy national team.

“Conte did great things with Juventus and with Italy, I’d like him to be back because he is an amazing manager. He has extraordinary qualities and can improve any team. He did it with Chelsea last season and he had done it years before with Juve.”

Del Piero was coached by Conte in his last year at Juventus in 2011: “We had many problems, he managed to solve them and leaded us to the title. I hope he will be staying a little longer in England but he could be back one day.”
