Thirteenth in the standings, out of the Coppa Italia. Fiorentina first season after Prandelli is more dark than light. It's down to injuries, disqualifications and a new coach with new ideas and a new way of doing things. It's the fault of a policy of austerity imposed by the club that in the summer brought only Boruc, Cerci and D'Agostino to Florence. They are interesting players, but not exactly the great acquisitions awaited by the fans. Sporting directore Corvino has not performed the usual miracle and Mihajlovic found himself managing an older team with something less than the other great clubs in Italy. 

The fans' pain could end soon. The fading memories of the success at Anfield, the Champions League soundtrack, and the great match against Bayern could come again.  Because now there is money: 250 million euro. The Della Valle family has sold 10% of Tod's, as reported today by the daily La Repubblica. This opens new scenarios not just on a market level. The confirmation of Gilardino and the renewal of Montolivo could be the foundations of an ambitious project. The new stadium and the Cittadella could return to be realistic objectives for a Fiorentina that is once again a protagonist.
