Didier Deschamps would be delighted to welcome Alessandro Del Piero to Marseille. The Juventus legend is set to leave the Bianconeri at the end of the current season when his contract will expire.

“If Alex will choose to come to Marseille, I would welcome him with open arms,” said Deschamps, who played with Del Piero and also coached him for a year.

“He is a great man and a fantastic player, I was lucky enough to play with him and then coach him,” added the Marseille boss.

Ranieri drops Wes?

Claudio Ranieri may decide to leave Wesley Sneijder out of his starting formation ahead of the Champions League clash against Marseille.

“I cannot afford to have him along with two forwards on the pitch,” said Ranieri.

“The Dutchman is not a problem for us, but with him as a trequartista we struggle in midfield,” explained the Nerazzurri coach. “We do run but we lack focus and concentration during games.”

The future of both Sneijder and Ranieri seems far from the San Siro tough. The Dutch player wanted to leave the Nerazzurri in the summer and President Massimo Moratti may agree to let him go at the end of this disappointing season for Inter.

D’Amico on Higuain & Giovinco: Agent Andrea D’Amico believes Juventus will sign the Argentine striker in the summer while Giovinco will play for ‘the coach who wants him more’.
