Disgraced Italian, Giampiero Ventura, may fill Premier League vacancy

Disgraced former Italian national team manager Giampiero Ventura may find a job before the Azzurri finds his replacement. According to reports, Premier League side Watford are keen on acquiring his services, should current manager Marco Silva leave the role.

Ventura drew widespread criticism across the world for questionable decisions, lack of leadership, and dressing room clashes as he guided Italy to their first World Cup qualification failure in 60 years. Following the match he ignored public pressure as he refused to resign. Instead, he held on to the position so the FIGC would fire him and continue to pay his contract.

As for Watford, they are afraid of losing their manager, Silva, who’s been linked to the Everton position. Owned by the Pozzo family, it makes sense that Watford would want to keep their manager Italian.

It’s unclear whether such a hiring would be permanent or if it would be a caretaker role until the end of the season.
