During an interview accorded to calciomercato.com, Empoli president Fabrizio Corsi has released some interesting declarations regarding the next transfer window:
“Nobody will leave in January. It would be a crime to deprive this team of any of its players. Of course, if somebody wants to leave to get more minutes, we can talk about it. In any case, all the starters will stay, we have an agreement with them: we want to do well all together, then we will evaluate the eventual offers. Tonelli? Roma and Napoli have asked for him, they wanted to know if we could start a negotiation in January, but I told them that it’s all postponed to the end of the season”
Regarding the team’s starlet Riccardo Saponara, Corsi said: “Why everybody wants him? Because he wins the games. He’s skilled, but the numbers make the difference: this year, despite injuries and suspensions, he has been always decisive with goals and assists. Will he join Juve? Let’s say that Juve have demonstrated to admire both the player and us, let’s see if in June all this will become something concrete”
