Under fire Vincenzo Montella and his AC Milan travelled to Athens to take on AEK Athens away at the Olympic stadium in the Greek capital in their group D fixture in the Europa League in an attempt to get back to winning ways.

Although the Rossoner failed to win, they looked solid defensively for the first time in a very long time with summer signing Leonardo Bonucci leading the Milan defence and looking very solid in the process.

However, Vincenzo Montella's side failed to create anything when goign forward in the first half as they struggled to break down the compact Greek defence who also looked very dangerous on the counter attack.

Montella made a substitution immediately at half-time bringing off striker Cutrone who looked out of his depth in the first half and replaced him with Suso. This gave Milan more stability in the middle of the pitch and veteran midfielder Riccardo Montolivo came very close to gifting the Rossoneri all the three points when seeing his shot hit the post after being played on by a lovely through ball from Locatelli.
