Everton ready to smash their transfer record again to land Dembele

Everton are prepared to smash their transfer record for the second time this summer to land French striking sensation Moussa Dembele. In an exclusive in Sunsport today, it’s understood that boss Ronald Koeman has targeted the 20-year-old Celtic frontman as the successor to Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku who looks set to leave Goodison Park this summer.

The Toffees have already splashed out £30M on England Under-21 goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and the journal now claims that the Dutch tactician is ready to surpass that to bring the youngster to Merseyside.

Despite claims from Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers that he will be staying in Glasgow for another season, Dembele’s future looks increasingly like being south of the border once again and Koeman hopes that a guarantee of first-team football under his charge will persuade the youngster to make the switch to the Premier League.

Celtic paid Fulham just £400,000 12 months ago for the Frenchman in what was one of the best transfer deals in recent times. Club chiefs are now unlikely to reject offers of around £30M for their star striker.
