Everton rival Marseille for €35m Spurs outcast

Everton have joined the race for Moussa Sissoko.

The Tottenham midfielder doesn’t seem to be a part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, despite being signed last summer for 35 million. L’Equipe confirm that the French international, having been left out of Spurs’ summer tour of the United States, is also wanted by Lyon.

Sissoko has already been the subject of an offer from Everton, who have only proposed a loan, however. Tottenham would rather sell.

Lyon’s offer is also not to Sissoko’s liking, the 27-year-old preferring to play Premier League football next season.

Sissoko would be just one of the players that Frank McCourt is trying to recruit so that he can beef up the Ligue 1 hopefuls. The former Los Angeles Dodgers owner wants to take the former giants back to the top, after a few frustrating seasons where financial problems have kept their ambitions at a historic low.

Sissoko only made eight Premier League starts last season, and is so far considered to be a disappointing flop by North London fans.
